White Desert, Antarctica

Antarctica

A genuine once-in-a-lifetime trip to one of the most breathtaking environments on Earth.

Plenty of resorts worldwide claim to offer a ‘one of a kind’ experience. White Desert really delivers. Fly on a private jet as far as humans can safely go into the interior of Antarctica, and stay in state-of-the-art heated fiberglass sleep pods at the most remote basecamp on Earth. When you have to sign a waiver acknowledging the extreme conditions you’ll put yourself through, you know you’re about to embark on a serious and truly unique adventure.

From your basecamp, you’ll venture out into the icy wilds alongside Adelie and Emperor penguins and huge Weddell seals, who all ignore humans because they see so few of us. Visit a 100-metre ice cave carved by melt-water, swim in 0.5-degree water, or go rock-climbing and kite skiing on the days when the weather allows it. You can also take a flight over the South Pole. White Desert’s expert guides tailor your experience to what you’re comfortable with – and how far you want to be pushed.

One thing to bear in mind: White Desert trips to take place in the small window between November and January when it’s safe to visit southernmost Antarctica.
