Six Senses Laamu

Sun, sealife and serenity on an idyllic atoll in the Indian Ocean.

There are so many memorable moments during a stay at Six Senses Laamu. The special little touches start even before you set foot in the resort – on the boat transfer from the airport to the Laamu Atoll, you’ll often spot dolphins slipping through the waves alongside you.

Step down from your over-water villa straight into the warm lagoon below (there are beachfront villas too, but we prefer being out over the ocean). Settle down on a balmy evening to watch a movie in the jungle cinema, or take a wander down to the ice and chocolate studio to choose from scores of ice cream flavours and assorted truffles, any time you like.

Of course, since Laamu is in the Maldives the diving and snorkelling are outstanding. You’ll plunge into teeming waters around the Laamu reef to spot Oriental Sweetlips, parrotfish and green turtles. And surfers will have a great time between April and October when the famous Yin Yang wave breaks just offshore.

At dinner time, you’ve got a choice of six bars and restaurants, but our recommendation is a table at LEAF. Take your seat in a jungle setting above the resort’s organic gardens, and enjoy dishes featuring ingredients from below.

Six Senses Laamu is a 50-minute domestic flight away from Male to Laamu Kadhdhoo Airport. From there, it’s a 15-minute boat trip to the resort.
