A blend of elegance and charm at this family-run camp.
Richard’s Camp is just waiting to be discovered. Set on the banks of the Njageteck River, with only seven tents, nothing will prepare you for just how special it really is.
Owned by the Roberts family, renowned for pioneering fly-in safaris since the 1940s, they have imbued this home away from home with their intimate knowledge of Kenya. Liz Roberts has infused the camp with flair; big wooden chests, bamboo bathrooms and Swahili motifs. Richard Roberts is a legendary guide – and we can arrange for him to guide you around his homeland.
The camp is known for its resident lion pride which you can sometimes see hunting and hear roaring during the night. You can also see wildebeest, elephant and zebra drink from the water at the permanent Ngoyanai springs.
When you’re not in the bush, you can play croquet on the lawn or simply curl up with a cold drink on padded swinging chairs. Expect hearty bush breakfasts in the middle of the Mara and dinners orchestrated under a lantern-lit acacia tree or the trickling river.
