A sleek and stylish lodge set in Namibia’s savannah landscapes.
It’s hard to believe that Omaanda is so close to capital Windhoek when you look out onto such glorious savannah landscapes. This slice of wilderness is in the 900-square-kilometre Zannier Reserve by N/a’an ku sê (established by the Belgian hotel group and a local conservation foundation) – an important refuge for wildlife like leopard and giraffe. Omaanda also surrounds the Shiloh Wildlife Sanctuary which serves as an intermediary reserve for injured or abandoned rhinos and elephants.
There are ten circular huts, built like those of the local Ovambo villagers, which combine local inspiration and five-star comfort. Spend your time here soaking in tranquil views and relaxing or get out into the reserve to experience conservation in action as you track rehabilitated elephant and rhino with researchers. Or spend a morning with mischievous meerkats before returning to a glorious infinity-edge heated pool which overlooks the savannah.
