Mwiba Lodge, Serengeti

Cradled by massive boulders overlooking a rocky gorge on the Arugusinyai River, this is the Serengeti on a grand and magnificent scale.

This awe-inspiring lodge lies in a vast and private Maswa Conservancy adjoining the southern Serengeti. It’s a landscape of ancient coral trees and acacias and a place where not only can the migration be seen but also the Hadzabe, Maasai, Datoga and Sukuma tribes be found.

Immaculately stylish in its design, this intimate lodge features some of the best suites we have ever seen with earthy, muted colours and sprawling views of the African terrain. The grey slate-lined infinity pool overlooks three springs from where there seems to be a constant horde of wildlife. You don’t have to venture far for some pampering with rain showers and in room spa treatments on offer, the perfect end to days out in the bush in search of wildlife.

Aside from high quality game drives, there are cultural excursions, wonderful walking with Mwiba scouts, the opportunity to head out on intrepid fly camping safaris and night drives – a rare speciality for Tanzania.

To the south of the Serengeti, Mwiba has its own airstrip which is serviced daily, from where it is a 15-minute drive to camp.
