Unassuming charm and Little-England style at a restored colonial plantation.
Montpelier Plantation Inn is where you’ll experience the unspoilt Caribbean. It’s a quiet space, tucked away in the lush tropical hills of Nevis, far from any glitz and glamour – although it has been known to host British royalty.
It’s built around an 18th century sugar plantation and has managed to keep its colonial charm, albeit with more modern-day luxuries. Rooms, suites and villas take their design cue from island life; freshly white and wooden-beamed with splashes of Caribbean colour.
There’s plenty to do around the island; hiking, off-road cycling, sailing and a private shuttle can take you to the nearby beach with private cabanas. However, we love relaxing by the blue mosaic-patterned swimming pool with views of the sugar mill and dramatic.
