Mandarin Oriental Canouan
Saint Vincent & the Grenadines
Private island luxury at its finest.
Nestled along an idyllic white sand beach, in July 2018 the first Mandarin Oriental to grace the Caribbean re-opened under its new name. This luxurious resort is located within a 1200-acre gated estate on a small island in the heart of the Grenadines.
The island of Canouan, where tortoises outnumber people, is a short hop from Barbados or St Vincent by local airline or private jet. This is ultra-exclusive luxury at its most plush. Your personal butler will look after you from the moment you arrive, guide you to your suite or villa and then help you choose your dining and activity options.
Will your first port of call be by the infinity pool or one of the five golden beaches? There are also three tennis courts, a children’s club with two kids pools and water slides, water sports options and an 18-hole golf course. The spa is tucked into the hillside with stunning ocean views and guided yoga and meditation classes are held on a platform facing the sea.
When it comes to dining, take breakfast in your room perhaps, and later enjoy ceviche by the pool. There are five restaurants and bars, as well as the choice to eat out elsewhere on the island – go by bike or golf buggy. If you want to explore this stunning archipelago, hiring a private boat is ideal for a day of playing pirates with the kids, snorkelling, and picnicking on a deserted beach shaded by coconut palms.
Reach the island by a short flight from either Barbados or St Vincent to Canouan. From there it's just a short transfer to the resort.
