A high-style Bedouin camp and romantic oasis evoking old world Arabia.
You could be forgiven for mistaking Al Maha resort for a mirage.
Tucked away in the undulating dunes and palm-studded desert, its white-tented suites reflect a Bedouin encampment that looks like no campsite we’ve ever seen. Nomads may have once shared the same panoramic views, but with private pools, bespoke furniture and a private sundeck (an ideal spot for sofa safari), the suites are a far cry from traditional tents.
When it comes to leaving the resort, you really are spoilt for choice for activities. Wake up to days of adventure galloping on horseback through golden sand or trailblazing the desert in 4x4s tracking Arabian oryx and gazelle. In the late afternoon, you can embark on a camel ride and after sunset, enjoy balmy Arabian nights with candlelit dinners alfresco – honeymooners might prefer to dine in the privacy of their veranda or picnic atop a dune under a canopy of stars.
