The Villa Experience
Set in an elevated position overlooking the Aegean Sea and surrounding olive groves, Villa Olous combines considerable privacy with excellent facilities for groups of up to 16.
Six bedrooms are located in the main house, while a separate two-bedroom cottage beneath the tennis court provides its own living, dining and kitchen areas – particularly useful for a family or guests looking for additional independence.
Inside, the main house combines generous communal spaces with individual areas for guests to relax. The sun-filled sitting room features high ceilings and a 600-year-old decorative fireplace, while the study and library has a Boston grand piano made by Steinway and an extensive collection of books.
There is also a dining room seating 12, a large fully equipped kitchen and a TV and games room with billiards. The separate cottage has two en-suite bedrooms alongside its own open-plan kitchen, dining and living area.
Much of life at Villa Olous takes place outdoors. The infinity pool is surrounded on three sides by a large patio with a barbecue and dining space for at least 12, while the private wooden sea deck has loungers, a parasol and drinks fridge.
The grounds extend through olive groves and include a protected Roman tank and Greek Orthodox chapel with sea views. Private tennis and swimming lessons can be arranged, while a Relais & Châteaux chef is included when booking the Full Staff price option.
Guests travelling with young children should be aware that there are several areas with large drops and children should not be left unsupervised.
Location Overview
Villa Olous is located in Pigaidakia, Elounda, on the island of Crete. Its elevated hillside position provides sweeping views across the sea and surrounding mountains, while guests have direct access to the water from the villa’s private wooden sea deck. The nearest beach in Elounda is just six minutes away by car.
Heraklion is approximately one hour’s drive from the villa, making it possible to explore the island’s capital during your stay. Heraklion Airport is around 55 minutes away by car.
