The Villa Experience

Monolithoi is formed of two separate stone villas, each designed as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional tower houses found throughout Mani. Each villa has three bedrooms, its own infinity pool and generous outdoor living spaces, with the architecture carefully positioned to provide privacy and make the most of the views across West Mani towards the sea. The design was recognised with the 2019 Architizer A+ Award for best vacation house.

Inside, local stone, concrete floors and uncoated cement finishes create a simple, earthy aesthetic, while large framed windows bring the surrounding landscape into the living spaces. Each villa is centred around its tower, with the master bedroom and en-suite bathroom on the upper level. The main level has two further double bedrooms, one en-suite, as well as an additional bathroom. The kitchen and dining area sits between the rear courtyard and pool, with large openings allowing the space to become almost semi-outdoor.

Outside, stone terraces unfold across different levels around each villa’s infinity pool. Built-in lounges, outdoor showers and shaded dining areas provide plenty of space for relaxing throughout the day and evening. Daily housekeeping is included, with linen changed every three days and towels every two days, while concierge assistance, transfers and pre-arrival shopping can also be arranged.

Location Overview

Monolithoi Villas are located at the entrance to Pigi village in West Mani, surrounded by the rugged landscapes, stone villages and olive groves characteristic of this part of the southern Peloponnese. The coast is within easy reach, with Pantazis Beach approximately 20 minutes away, while Stoupa and Kalogria Beach are around 25 minutes by car. Stoupa and nearby Agios Nikolaos offer a taste of relaxed seaside life, while historic Kardamyli is approximately 35 minutes away.

With a hire car, there is plenty more of the Mani peninsula to discover. The region is dotted with Byzantine churches, traditional villages and historic sites, while Limeni, Areopoli, the Diros Caves, Oitilo, Gerolimenas, Vatheia and Cape Tainaron offer plenty of reasons to venture further south. Kalamata Airport is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes away by car, while Athens International Airport is around 5 hours away.
