Wildlife. Outback. Wine. Three reasons why South Australia will WOW you at every turn. You’ll start with a gourmet stay in the lush vineyards of the Barossa Valley, before heading deep into the rugged mountain ranges of the legendary outback for a real ‘away from the crowds’ experience. Then it’s time to meet abundant wildlife on the sandy shores of Kangaroo Island.
Barossa Valley Wines
Land in Adelaide, where you’ll be met on arrival and transferred by road to begin your South Australia adventure in one of the world’s great wine regions, the Barossa Valley. We’ll arrange for you to tour a selection of wineries, where you’ll meet exclusive winemakers for a personal insight into their processes. As well tasting plenty of excellent wines, there’s also exceptional fresh produce for you to try at a wide range of farmers markets and gourmet restaurants.
Next up, we’ll take you deep into the remote wilderness of the Flinders Ranges for a quintessentially Australian outback experience. We’ll fly you over a dramatic landscape of red sandstone bluffs and dry creeks, to a converted 1850’s homestead where you’ll enjoy the utmost peace and tranquillity. Knowledgeable local guides will take you on a variety of bush excursions, from gentle hikes to jeep safaris. You’ll also get an insight into the region’s indigenous history, courtesy of visits to ancient gorge and cave carvings. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the diverse wildlife on show too, from goanna and emus to wedged-tailed eagle and western quoll. There’s an inviting pool to cool off in when you’re not exploring, and the clear night skies are a stargazer’s dream.
Kangaroo Island Wildlife
We’ll then fly you back to civilisation for a stay within the animal paradise of Kangaroo Island. Renowned as Australia’s Galapagos, here you’ll find wild beaches, spectacular coastal rocks, and an abundance of wildlife. Spend your time walking amongst enormous sea lions as they bask on the beach, go kayaking or swimming in the clearest of seas, then watch kangaroos at dusk with champagne and canapes in hand. If you’re a fan of seafood, be sure to taste the local hand-dived scallops – there’ll be the freshest you have ever eaten.
