A land of jungles, astonishing natural beauty and deserted beaches, Vietnam is wonderfully exotic and endlessly fascinating. Journey from the French-colonial architecture of Hanoi to a remote island hideaway in the middle of the South China Sea, as we take you on a top to toe journey of some of our favourite spots.
Good Morning Vietnam
Land in Hanoi, where you’ll start your journey with a touch of colonial grandeur by staying at the elegant Sofitel Legend Metropole for three nights. With its tree-lined boulevards, scenic lakes and ochre coloured buildings, Hanoi has plenty of charm as well as multiple monuments to visit. We’ll arrange an expert-guided street food tour, where you’ll visit bustling local markets and taste local specialities like pan fried Banh Goi, a Vietnamese empanada filled with rice, pork and noodles. Then, explore the narrow 36 streets of the Old Quarter like a local on a cycle tour, before a visit to the Ngoc Son temple.
Journey east to the emerald waters and towering limestone monoliths of Halong Bay for an unforgettable two-night cruise aboard a luxury junk boat. You’ll journey into otherworldly caves, where huge stalactites hang from the vaulted ceiling above you. Hop aboard a kayak and paddle through traditional floating villages, passing local fishermen casting their nets as you go. Cycle shady paths through the national park on the jungle island of Cat Ba, then take a refreshing swim on a deserted beach. In between, there’s plenty of time for sunbathing on deck while simply enjoying the view.
A transfer back to Hanoi, then a flight south takes you to the former imperial city of Hue where you stay for two nights beside the Perfume River. Wander the palaces and pavilions of the Forbidden City, from where Nguyen Emperors once ruled Vietnam, before taking a leisurely boat ride to see local life along the riverbanks.
End your trip with a week of ultimate indulgence within the stunning Con Dao archipelago. After flying in via Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll arrive at the white sands of Six Senses Con Dao. Spend your time snorkelling, sun worshipping, dining like royalty and reminiscing over your adventures while surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes.
