Style
A personal oasis. Built by an English hotelier as his own little hideaway, a sense of sophistication and understated style shines through at this impressive private estate. It’s perfectly suited to a relaxing family holiday, and the perfect setting for any kind of celebration. Spend your days relaxing on daybeds by the pool where spa therapists are on hand and drinks are on tap.
Things to do
Away from the estate, the city itself is all hustle and bustle. For a nice change of pace, we recommend a visit to Jardin Majorelle – Yves Saint Laurent’s botanical garden – where you can walk among the trees, fountains, pools and pavilions of this Marrakech landmark. Get there in the early morning to avoid the crowds – and the full force of the sun. Also worthwhile are excursions up into the Atlas Mountains.
Sleeping
Choose the larger seven-bedroom Villa Ezzahra for an authentic Moroccan feel – rough stone walls, mosaic floors and cedarwood furniture. Pick two-bedroom Villa Alkhozama for a more contemporary setting, surrounded by ancient olive trees. There’s also three-bedroom Villa Azzaytouna nestled among 5,000 metres of orange blossom, bougainvillea and olive tree gardens. Or, you can book all three to sleep up to 26 people, perfect for a big get together, party or three-generational holiday.
Food & Drink
It is unusual to find the comforts of a fully catered villa of this standard in Morocco. The chef and his team serve up a menu of Moroccan and European dishes which can be tailored to your liking. Meal times are up to you, so if late breakfasts or lazy lunches are your thing then this will be heaven. The lantern-lit dinners are also worth a mention, so very pretty and the perfect setting for a celebratory dinner or party.
What Stands Out
All your meals, non-alcoholic drinks, laundry, a chauffeured vehicle and spa treatments are included in the price and an impressive team of wonderfully friendly yet discreet staff are on hand to cater to your every whim – including Maria, the house manager who is great at negotiating the Medina and will happily escort you on a shopping trip – she knows all the best places to go.
