Tokyo High

Start your trip in high-rise Tokyo for three days, in the sleek sophistication of Aman Tokyo. Here commanding views allow you to admire the brightly lit veneer of this layered city. Delve in at ground-level to discover Tokyo’s Rikugien Gardens and the flourishing maple and cherry trees. Take a guided ramen tour of Tokyo, hang out in a tiny speakeasy for sake cocktails or attend a sumo wrestling tournament and witness Japan’s oldest sporting tradition.

Aman Tokyo, Japan

Aman Tokyo

Located at the top of the Otemachi Tower, Aman Tokyo breathes minimalism and contemporary detailing. It also absorbs the myriad culture from Japan's capital city with ryokan-style bedrooms, clutter-free decor, sliding doors and giant granite bathtubs in bathrooms that face the city lights. Everywhere vast glazing allows you to admire views of Mount Fuji and the Imperial Gardens while simultaneously creating a space to escape from city life. A large Aman spa further compounds the idea of relaxation with a 30-metre pool with panoramic city views, Japanese-style hot baths, and steam rooms.

Paradise Found

The Brando

Certainly, your conscience can take a break. The Brando is one of the most eco-friendly hotels on the planet and you’ll see evidence of this wherever you go, from the pioneering seawater air-conditioning, and the translucent ocean that flits with life due to fish and turtle preservation programmes, to the eco-station that hosts scientists and naturalists.

Summary

Enjoy the best of both worlds on this contrasting trip with a stay in Japan where you can immerse yourself in cultural pastimes and foodie adventures in fast-moving Tokyo. Follow it with a back-to-nature island holiday at The Brando. Surrounded by such absolute beauty, you’ll be glad the hotel has such an incredible sustainability programme to protect the island and its encircling marine ecosystem.
