SIX SENSES FORT BARWARA + SIX SENSES ZIGHY BAY

This adventurous trip sees you traverse from India to Oman to stay at two contrasting properties, both imbued with cultural nuances giving you plenty of opportunities to explore the local area. Starting at Fort Barwara you’ll spend a week in palatial style at this magical hotel, once a 14th century fort, remodelled to luxe modern standards. Explore local Rajasthani villages and take an excursion to spot tigers in the wild Ranthambore National Park.

Arriving in Oman, you’ll have the chance to paraglide into Zighy Bay – or else take the 4×4 transfer through the rugged terrain of the Musandam Peninsula. Here, a high standard of desert living awaits with comfortable pool villas, some of which open out onto the beach. Relax by the pool or on the beach or head out on Arabian adventures in the mountains, in hidden villages or sailing the calm Musandam Fjords.

“Combine tiger-spotting with snorkelling, Rajasthani culture with Arabian mountain trekking on a holiday that immerses you in the wonder of both Rajasthan and Oman.”

Travel Lowdown

Your journey will take you first to Dubai, where you’ll connect to Jaipur in Rajasthan in northern India. From here it’s two and a half hours to Six Senses Fort Barwara. On your return you’ll fly back from Jaipur to Dubai and transfer to Zighy Bay, Oman in just under two hours.

SIX SENSES BHUTAN + SIX SENSES YAO NOI

Shroud yourself in hallowed mysticism with a truly unforgettable trip to both Bhutan and Thailand, exploring countries that prosper under Buddhism, ancient customs and a pervading spirituality. Discovering Bhutan with Six Senses means immersion into this fascinating culture via Six Senses lodges that are scattered across the country in Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey and Paro giving you an unrivalled opportunity to explore clifftop monasteries shadowed by the Himalayas, meet Bhutanese people and orange-robed monks and trek ravines, gorges, bamboo forests and waterfalls.

Onward to the island of Yao Noi, near Phuket in Thailand for the second part of your journey. Here Six Senses Yao Noi clings unfeasibly to the cliffs, offering an astounding view over the mist-swirled karst sea-scape of Phang Nga Bay. Relaxation beckons to those who like to succumb, with lavish clifftop thatched residences with infinity pools, private butlers and a Thai-inspired longhouse spa. If you can drag yourself away from your sea view villa, take a long tail boat out to the karsts to get a better view of the craggy cliffs, alongside snorkelling and monkey spotting.

“Two countries bonded by Buddhism show differing ways to experience the world – in Bhutan you’ll discover a way of life so different to home, and Yao Noi serves up classic Thai scenery in absolute luxury.”

Travel Lowdown

Flying to Bhutan entails an overnight stay in an Asian city such as Singapore or Bangkok, then onwards to Paro for your exploration of Bhutan. On your return, fly from Paro directly to Bangkok for a connecting flight to Phuket, followed by a speedboat to Six Senses Yao Noi.

SIX SENSES KOCATAS MANSIONS + SIX SENSES ZIL PASYON

If you like mixing it up on holiday, then this pairing of heady and evocative Istanbul coupled with one of the world’s most beautiful tropical islands in the Seychelles should do the trick. After a short-haul flight, you’ll get under the skin of Istanbul, staying in a historic mansion that overlooks the Bosphorus. Settle into your elegant Ottoman-inspired room before exploring the sights and scents of Istanbul, perhaps by boat along Shores of the Golden Horn; you’ll also visit the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar.

Onwards towards paradise. Lifting off from the historical sights of Istanbul, your next stop could not be more different. A private island in the Indian Ocean, ringed by white-sand beaches characterises Six Senses Zil Pasyon. Here you’ll stay in secluded private villa with pool, overlooking an ocean panorama clasped by granite boulders and jungle. With high-design aesthetics and masses of space, the villas come with dedicated butlers to facilitate your every need whether that’s a boat trip to uninhabited islands, rejuvenating spa treatments or a celebratory dinner. You are in paradise after all.

“A holiday of two sides, this contrasting trip takes in cultural Istanbul at Kocatas Mansions followed by the luxe delights of tropical private island Zil Pasyon.”

Travel Lowdown

Fly direct to Istanbul, transferring to the hotel in 40 minutes. For the second part of your trip, fly from Istanbul to the Seychelles. On arrival to Mahe it is an exhilarating 20-minute helicopter flight over the glistening Indian Ocean to Félicité Island and Six Senses Zil Payson.
