DANAI BEACH RESORT
Danai Beach Resort proves you don’t have to lower your standards, just because you’re travelling with children. From start to finish, Danai make everything so easy. Firstly, it’s not a huge resort so getting from A – B is simple whether you are heading to the private, white-sand beach where attendants make up your loungers and cabanas with fluffy towels, to the pine-shaded terrace for a cold drink or a simply relaxing by your private pool.
Childcare is an easy drop-off at the kids’ club, conveniently located near the hotel’s wine cellar, which has one of Greece’s largest collection of wine. You can even hire an instructor to give your child a language lesson, painting class or swim tuition.
For a family, Danai has a range of elegant villas with private pools to choose from or the adjoining suites give parents and their offspring their own space.
In the evening, dinner at gastronomic restaurant The Squirrel overlooking the Aegean is a must. Children are not permitted, and you’ll enjoy its romantic atmosphere even more so because of it.
“A stylish family-run resort, Danai makes you feel warmly welcomed by friendly staff, an intimate atmosphere and exquisite restaurant.”
MUST DO
If you have active kids in tow, unleash them on Danai’s water sports including paddleboarding, kayaking and riding the ‘doughnut’. A trip out on Danai’s own yacht makes for a memorable day, sailing around Halkidiki’s peninsulas and stopping for swims in the emerald water.
TEEN CHIC

CAYO - CRETE
If you’ve got pre-teens and teens who are starting to have an eye for design or perhaps becoming fussy about their environment, you can wow them with a stay at Cayo, located on a quiet corner of the Elounda Peninsula in Crete. Set into a hillside, Cayo is created with architectural flair and eco-friendly design to maximise light and air into the resort using natural materials such as wood, stone and rattan.
The two main pools are sleek and spacious with plenty of sunbathing spots, even better, all of the suites at Cayo have private pools so you and your teens can have privacy when you need it. We’d recommend the two-bedroom sea facing interconnecting rooms which overlook Spinalonga for Victoria Hislop fans.
"Stylish and chic, Cayo in Elounda, Crete is guaranteed to impress your teenage offspring with plenty of spots for that all-important selfie."
MUST DO
As well as a beach with its own loungers and Stone Beach restaurant the hotel also has a spa. The nice thing about Crete is that it feels safe enough for teens to go our exploring on their own along the seafront to the pretty village of Plaka.
FIVE STAR SANCTUARY

ELIAMOS - KEFALONIA
The Ionian Island of Kefalonia is a perennial family favourite due its sandy beaches framed by fragrant pines, sand-in-the-toes tavernas for easy lunches, picturesque harbours, fishing villages and the nearby island of Ithaca to explore by boat for a day trip. To enjoy the classic Greek Island experience with the family, we recommend staying at Eliamos in Kefalonia located on the southern shores of Kefalonia right above a secluded, hidden sandy beach.
With just 12 villas, each with their own private saltwater swimming pools, Eliamos hits the sweet spot between having your own space and being in a hotel. The villas are beautifully decorated in a contemporary style, with polished concrete, wood, rattan and terracotta making way for Ionian Sea views and lavender-filled gardens with pools. Life is also incredibly easy with Eliamos’ organic restaurant and café on-site or tavernas in walking distance, plus the nearby town of Argostoli, allowing further foodie options.
"Crowd pleaser Kefalonia is a Greek Island favourite for its gorgeous beaches, Greek charm and authentic atmosphere."
MUST DO
Exploring the island is a must. As well as atmospheric monasteries, caves and easy-to-wander fishing villages, the beaches of Kefalonia are exceptional, with dazzling blue and extraordinarily clear water lapping pine-shaded coves. From the hotel’s own secret beach to popular Myrtos and the tiny Fteri beach, a day on Kefalonia’s beaches is true paradise.
CYCLADIC SUNSHINE

ANDRONIS ARCADIA - SANTORINI
Often seen as the preserve of honeymooners, coming to the dramatic, volcanic Cycladic Island of Santorini is fun for the whole family when you stay at Andronis Arcadia – who have the largest pools on the island. Centred in Oia, the hotel tumbles down the hillside in white cubes, softened with green roofs and turquoise swimming pools.
Depending on the size of your family, you might like a two-bedroom suite, Family Suite or even the four-bedroom villa. All have a very high quality yet liveable interior design with polished concrete floors, hessian rugs, indoor greenery and large sliding doors which allow for sea view gazing and the infamous Santorini sunsets.
The hotel can also organise memorable day trips such as an afternoon on the hotel’s own boat to explore the caldera cliffs and dramatic beaches. You can even arrange a photographer to organise a special photo shoot to capture your happy holiday forever.
"The Cycladic Island of Santorini has a very special atmosphere with its black sand beaches, ancient wine culture, dramatic views and sunset opportunities."
MUST DO
Families are very well looked after at Andronis Arcadia, suiting parents and children who like structured activities such as the kid’s spa, family cookery classes, tennis lessons and children’s yoga. The Kids Club, for children aged 4-14 has a schedule of fun-filled days, plus the exciting opportunity to engage in a robotics session, held in the dedicated robotics lab by using LEGO® Education robotics platforms.
