Our Mauritian Beauties
Known for its tropical beaches and lush, jungly interior, the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius makes for a sensational holiday in paradise.
We’ve handpicked the best stays which are guaranteed to elevate your experience.
CLASSIC STYLE

One&Only Le Saint Géran
The Grand Dame of Mauritius hotels, the One&Only Saint Géran is old school hospitality at its best. With a gorgeous swathe of white sand beach over one-mile-long, incredible service and a long-standing reputation, the hotel deservedly benefits from repeat visitors year after year.
That’s not to say it’s stuffy or old fashioned. With a recent multi-million upgrade, the resort feels fresh and modern with contemporary design fusing beautifully with the original colonial architecture. Best of all, the resort makes the most if its idyllic position with many of the rooms and suites owning commanding views over tropical gardens and onto the aquamarine Indian Ocean beyond. We recommend opting for a suite which comes with a butler, a reserved cabana on the beach and opulent marble bathrooms.
“Whether you come to One&Only Le Saint Géran as a couple or a family, the ambience feels indulgent yet relaxed with established staff who do their utmost to make your holiday the best it can be.”
BEST FOR
Those that like slick service whilst in paradise will love the well-oiled One&Only Le Saint Géran, and it’s a good choice for foodies too with the stilted Japanese restaurant Tapasake one of the best places to eat on the island.
BOUTIQUE BLISS

Constance Prince Maurice
Located on the northeast coast of Mauritius on its own peninsula, Constance Prince Maurice is secluded and private, offering two divine beaches, a gasp-worthy infinity pool, two championship golf course and three restaurants. You’ll find it hard to summon a reason to leave this tropical idyll.
In terms of accommodation, there’s plenty of choice to suit everyone. We love the romantic thatched Junior Suites which are stilted over the lagoon and have sunset views. Families will have a riot in the beach villas which have outdoor bathrooms and private heated pools. For the ultimate indulgence, opt for the Princely Suite, sleeping six which is a breezy, beachfront villa with two pools, a garden and a butler to keep everyone happy.
“Smaller with a more, intimate boutique feel, the Constance Prince Maurice is as polished as it is peaceful.”
BEST FOR
With plenty of space to spread out, dreamy beaches and a marvellous spa, this could be an incredibly indulgent honeymoon, however, the plethora of water sports and a kids’ club helmed by super smiley staff mean that’s it a great option for families too.
Tropical Modernism

LUX* Belle Mare
Reopening this summer (2023) after a fire damaged the property, LUX* Belle Mare is back, better than ever, set on the powder soft sands of Belle Mare Plage. With the same attention to detail amid the minimalist, tropical-luxe interiors, LUX* Belle Mare is a contemporary resort that is perhaps Mauritius’ trendiest and most relaxed hotel.
With a cool, white-on-white décor under thatched roofs, LUX* Belle Mare’s accommodation comes in the form of suites and villas which are a combiantion of family, ocean view, beach or wellness. The beachfront villa within its own verdant tropical garden is a beautiful one-bedroom hideaway for a couple, encompassing a private deck, freestanding tub, outdoor shower and kitchen butler. Like the resort, dining is a relaxed combination, from Michelin-star Indian cuisine, the Ibiza-style beach bar to South East Asian street eats.
“Perfectly placed on Belle Mare Plage, LUX* Belle Mare is the cool contender in our Mauritius line-up, always looking good from day to night.”
BEST FOR
Loved by families and couples alike, this resort suits those that appreciate modern architecture and high design interiors and prefer a more laid-back, friendly approach to service.
ASIAN GEM

Shangri-La Le Tousserok
Asian style meets classic island architecture sums up Shangri-La Le Tousserok. Since Shangri-La took over the hotel in 2015, the resort feels refreshed yet still rooted in the local environment, making use of salvaged wood with sandy pathways winding through the untamed garden and low-rise cottages cradled around palm trees giving way to powdery soft beaches and the azure Indian Ocean.
We recommend staying in the Frangipani Club, a collection of spacious suites set apart by a wooden bridge with its own pool. The jewel in Le Tousserok’s crown is perhaps its own private island, just ten minutes away by boat, where guests can revel in a barefoot castaway experience, where spa treatments, dining on the beach or simply wandering around this all-natural paradise is all part of your experience.
“Meeting the sweet spot between chic Asian décor and Mauritian heritage, Shangri La Le Tousserok is paradise reimagined for the whole family.”
BEST FOR
Due to Le Tousserok’s extensive grounds, the resort feels private with plenty of space. For that reason, we think it works well for families, especially the two-bedroom Frangipani Club suites which open out directly onto the beach. For the ultimate treat book Le Tousserok’s three-bed beach villas which are tucked away on a secluded part of the beach.

Few things compare to holidaying at a private island resort. If what you’re after is utter seclusion and perfect peace, in a location off-limits to everyone but the staff and perhaps a few other guests, then a private island is the only way to go.
