Family Fun on Safari in Zambia

Keeping everyone happy

A family safari in a remote part of Africa is not going to be the cheapest ten days of your life, but Zambia does represent excellent value when it comes to game viewing in Africa - especially when compared to neighbouring Botswana.

Imagine your children going back to school after seeing leopards on the prowl, hippos cavorting, huge flocks of carmine bee-eaters and having experienced a bush picnic underneath ancient ana trees on the banks of one of the world’s most powerful rivers.

As far as holidays go, a safari in Zambia with your family is one of those trips you won’t forget in a hurry.

"A safari in Zambia affords you the luxury of raw, organic privacy; of being in a national park the size of Luxembourg but with few other visitors."

Organic Privacy

When you consider getting around usually involves flying, and take into account the logistics of supplying bush camps in the middle of nowhere with your morning bacon and eggs plus evening drinks, you’ll see a safari is worth every penny.

Zambia is the real deal. Wildlife viewing in both South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi National Park is simply unsurpassed. Some activities are better suited to teens, but younger children are well looked after and the flexibility of exclusive-use houses offers a perfect opportunity for the whole family to relax and enjoy some great safari activities.

Safari and More...

"As exhilarating as a safari is, it can also be tiring for little ones. We'd always recommend a week afterwards to relax as a family."

Being centrally located, Zambia is impeccably placed for post-safari adventures too. See Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders – Victoria Falls is a bucket list sight, whether you take a stroll past them, enjoy a helicopter ride over them or white water raft down the Zambezi from them. It is also worth considering a post-safari flop on Malawi’s beautiful Lake Malawi, or heading to cosmopolitan Cape Town, South Africa – both of which can be accessed by a direct flight.
