Curtain Bluff

Set on a rocky perch in the south of Antigua in the West Indies, Curtain Bluff is a stylish, boutique resort full of Caribbean colour.

If you’re looking for a glorious Caribbean escape to a small, elegant hotel with bags of character, Curtain Bluff fits the bill.

“Half an hour from the airport and the buzz of English Harbour, Curtain Bluff’s joy lies in its tranquil position with two glorious beaches, plenty of swaying palm trees, two excellent restaurants and a sociable cocktail hour, not to mention one of the Caribbean’s best wine cellars. ”

Things to do

Such is the relaxed ambience of Curtain Bluff, it’s difficult to imagine wanting to move from your lounger in front of the iridescent Caribbean Sea, but if activity calls, there’s plenty of choice. Take a tennis lesson on one of the four courts or shoot some hoops on the basketball court, stretch out in a yoga or Pilates class or simply drift to the spa for a deep tissue massage or aromatherapy wrap. Out at sea, snorkel the colourful corals on Cadie’s reef, feel the wind in your sails on a Hobie Cat or try your hand at water-skiing. The rest of Antigua is also easily explored by private car – discover its 365 beaches – one for every day of the year.

Sleeping

The great thing about Curtain Bluff’s position on the rocky promontory is that it affords wonderful views from the rooms and suites. Decorated in white with nautical accents of blue and green, all the rooms have indoor and outdoor living spaces creating relaxed tropical havens. For added luxury, pick a Junior Suite with a private pool or choose to sleep to the sound of the lapping waves in a Beachfront Deluxe, which opens directly on to the sandy shore. Families can take over the Grace & Morris Bay Suites which can adjoin to create four bedrooms; its terraces have sweeping views and plunge pools.

Food & Drink

Curtain Bluff is an all-inclusive, but the focus lies with high quality menus and freshly cooked dishes showcasing the best of local ingredients, served with sophisticated flair. Fresh fish and seafood feature daily in a five-course dinner alongside soups, salads, pasta and steak. There are lots of nice extras too such as tempting daily afternoon tea and delicious sundowner cocktails served with hor d’oeuvres to segue the day into evening.

Good To Know

While Curtain Bluff is relaxation personified, there’s an opportunity to see more of the Caribbean while you’re here. For the ultimate combo, why not tag on a week in St Barths afterwards. Tradewind Aviation flies between the islands making it possible to explore St Barths legendary island buzz. We know all the best hotels there too so speak to us about which one suits you best.

Best For

Curtain Bluff has a laid-back atmosphere which welcomes both couples and families alike. The Cee Bee’s kids’ club is a very natural and friendly indoor and outdoor space that’s perfect for little ones up to the age of ten. Older children can learn to sail Hobie Cats, take tennis instruction or crash out in the games rooms.

The Verdict

If you’re looking for the perfect spot for a totally relaxed and luxurious break, where you don’t need to think of a thing, then Curtain Bluff will suit you extremely well. Friendly, can-do service ensures nothing is too much trouble, leaving you to unwind in style in Antigua.
