Day 1: Riverside Strolls & Market Flavours
Begin in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s charming capital, where fairytale architecture and ancient history are home to a vibrant, welcoming community.
Explore on foot – lose yourself in the cobblestoned medieval lanes or stroll beneath the chestnut trees of Tivoli Park. Drift along the willow-lined Ljubljanica River as your boat coasts beneath the Triple Bridge, or ride the 70-metre-long funicular up to the 16th-century hilltop castle for expansive city views.
As evening falls, dine in a Michelin-starred restaurant, or visit the Open Kitchen, a lively market where local stallholders serve traditional Slovenian dishes and contemporary fusion food.
Day 2-4: Lakes, Peaks & Border Crossings
Journey into Slovenia’s breathtaking Alpine region, pausing at enchanting Lake Bled, where a storybook church crowns its island. Sail across the sparkling waters on a hand-propelled pletna boat, ring the wishing bell or immerse yourself in history at Lake Bled Castle, Slovenia’s oldest.
Continue to Lake Bohinj, which is framed by the Triglav mountains. Explore the aquamarine lake on an electric boat, paddleboard or kayak. Hike to Vogel’s plateau for panoramic views over the snow-dusted Julian Alps. Or pick up the pace with a cycle to the meeting point of Slovenia, Italy and Austria.
Day 5-8: Rapids by day, starry dinners by night
Verdant slopes and rippling rapids beckon as you descend into the dramatic Soča Valley. Raft along the emerald-green Soča River, splash through miniature waterfalls and leap from sunlit rocks. Trace the scars of WW1 at one of the country’s bloodiest frontlines, or wander hidden valley paths far from the crowds.
Conclude your days under endless skies, where a canopy of stars act as the light for your traditionally inspired dinner. It’s a farewell steeped in flavour, warmth and wonder.
Day 9: Farewell to Slovenia
Today you will bid farewell to Slovenia and make your way home.
