Hike to the base of the Torres

It’s no walk in the park, but hiking enthusiasts the world over come to Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park to take on this challenge.

Trek along stunning valleys and over small streams, before climbing rapidly through high-altitude forest. You’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the park’s iconic trio of granite towers.

This arduous trek is the most sought after in park, taking you through 11 miles of pristine surroundings. To reach the base you will have to negotiate irregular terrain, often unpredictable weather and strong winds, as well as steep ascents. It’s undeniably strenuous and does demand a degree of physical fitness, but your effort is rewarded in spades.

Once you reach the lookout you are met with breath-taking views of the three mighty spires. Then enjoy a well-earned rest and picnic lunch against this stunning backdrop, filled with a sense of both awe and achievement.
