An untamed wilderness fronting the banks of the mighty Zambezi, this park lies opposite the famous Mana Pools Reserve and draws much of its attraction from its relatively undeveloped state. The river is a magnet for massive concentrations of wildlife and whilst the diversity may not be as great as elsewhere, the opportunities for close encounters with game are exceptional. Options include guided boat trips that bring drinking wildlife almost within touching distance, 4x4, walking and camping safaris downriver or into the hinterland and arguably some of the most challenging tiger fishing in the world. Sample itinerary

DAY 1 LONDON/LUSAKA
Schedule overnight flight from London to Lusaka.

DAY 2 LUSAKA/SAUSAGE TREE
On arrival in Lusaka connect by light aircraft to the Lower Zambezi National Park. Game drive transfer to Sausage Tree for a 3 night stay.

DAY 3 - 4 SAUSAGE TREE
2 days of activities including game drives, night drives, walking, boating, canoeing and fishing.

DAY 5 SAUSAGE TREE/BUSHCAMP COMPANY
Transfer from the Lower Zambezi by light aircraft to the Luangwa National Park. Game drive to one of the Bushcamp Company Camps for a 4 night stay. You can stay in one camp for 4 nights or split between 2 camps and walk or game drive between them.

DAY 6 - 8 BUSHCAMP COMPANY
3 days of activities with focus on walks but also game drives and night drives.

DAY 9 BUSHCAMP COMPANY/SHIWA HOUSE
Transfer from Mfuwe to Shiwa by light aircraft and spend 2 nights at Shiwa House.

DAY 10 SHIWA HOUSE
Activities including exploring the house, outbuildings and soaking up the amazing history, guided walks, horse riding, relaxing at the hot springs and boating.

DAY 11 SHIWA HOUSE/LUSAKA
Transfer from Shiwa by light aircraft to Lusaka. Overnight at Chaminuka Lodge.

DAY 12 LONDON
Early transfer to Lusaka airport for daytime schedule flight to London. Arrive London late afternoon.
