Situated on the Boushar Beachfront in Muscat with a dramatic mountain backdrop, the Chedi Muscat is one of Arabia’s most exclusive hotels. Staff here are devoted to ensuring every guest, adult or child, feels like a million dollars.
The accommodation marries classic Omani and contemporary design, from the lantern-filled canopied foyer to the sleek, minimalist superior and deluxe hotel rooms and lavish chedi club suites each with a water garden, pool and a private stretch of sandy shore. While it is arguable whether the beach and ocean or the mountains provide the better view, most of the air-conditioned rooms overlook one or the other.
Three restaurants provide excellent cuisine ranging from Mediterranean to Arabic and Asian or you can dine privately using 24 hour room service.
The beachside setting offers plenty of opportunities for water sports, including diving just offshore. There are also two pools, two tennis courts and an excellent spa which features in the 2008 Condé Nast readers awards for Hotel Spas. Old Muscat is just 20 minutes away, or you could take a stroll into the mountains should you fancy a change of scene but this hotel is so fantastic that you probably won’t.
