With its opening in July 2005 Ol Seki Mara Camp is one of the newest additions to the Maasai Mara. This exclusive seasonal camp is run by Nico Giovando, born in Nyeri, who holds Kenya very close to his heart. Since buying the camp Nico has brought in his sister Cathy Giovando who has been in Kenya all her life, and now manages the camp with her son Kiko. Their shared passion for Africa and vibrant personas provide guests with a warm and knowledgeable host team.
Ol Seki, a member of Ecotourism Society of Kenya, has added its own touch with its uniquely spacious and contemporary design of the camp. Set on a wonderful rocky promontory you can enjoy panoramic views, overlooking the sweeping Isupukiai River in a wilderness area bursting with game. The beautifully designed tents are nestled among Cordia and Acacia trees attracting a profusion of wildlife and birds. The 6 spacious tents each with crisp linen, thoughtfully designed lighting, a dressing area and en-suite hot showers and flush loos are of a simple but modern architecture meeting environmental demands and creating an exciting living space. Ol Seki also now has 2 brand new suites. The “Simba” Suite and “Chui” Suite offer a spacious private living and dining tent flanked by two bedroom tents, each complete with en-suite bathroom, shower and changing area. Guests staying in the suite will benefit from their own private kitchen, with a dedicated team of staff for each unit. Private access to and from game drives, provide an entirely exclusive Safari experience.
While at Ol Seki time can be spent game viewing with the experienced guides either on foot or by vehicle. Enjoy bush picnics and sundowners in the Maasai Mara Reserve on the plains and the nearby hippo pools or choose to simply relax at the camp. Night drives and scenic walking safaris are also an option as well as visits to various ceremonies in the local and unspoilt villages. With privacy in mind, the ambience of the traditional mobile safari camp has been extended to heights never dreamed of in this peaceful and magical setting.
