Vietnam Saigon

Timeless traditions and an ancient culture come together at Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. Notre Dame Cathedral dominates the skyline, monks pray at Pagodas, puppeteers entertain children in the parks and artists create masterpieces on canvas while the War Remnants Museum drives home the point that many victims are innocent civilians. The strikingly modern Reunification Palace is preserved almost as it was in April 1975 when the Republic of Vietnam ceased to exist and the Viet Cong flag was raised over the city. Outside the city, the network of tunnels at Cu Chi, used during the war, is well preserved with innumerable trap doors and tunnels containing kitchen and living areas, weapons factories and hospitals.
