Uganda Southern Parks

Uganda’s southern parks are a safari feast. Where rainforest meets savannah in Semliki the diversity of wildlife is incredible, with forest and savannah species and unique birdlife that includes southern and northern migrants. Night drives, walks and visits to the local pygmy community add to the appeal, while in Kibale’s equatorial rainforests, the world’s largest primate concentration, 500 chimpanzees and clouds of butterflies are equally enthralling. Visiting the Bwindi jungle, host to half the world’s endangered Mountain Gorillas, is unbeatable while the Queen Elizabeth National Park offers an astonishing variety of wildlife and many rare birds such as the statuesque shoebill.
