Orlando is perhaps most famous for Disney’s flagship theme park, “the Magic Kingdom”. Since the opening, plenty of others have been developed, namely Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom, SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Beyond the fast-paced excitement of the theme parks you'll find a more natural side. More than 300 lakes, springs and rivers as well as numerous parks and gardens present a contrast. Trails for walking and hiking and the area's wildlife sanctuaries and zoos offer a wealth of discoveries for the active visitor. Picnics in parks, boat journeys, fishing and biking are some of the many ways to spend your days.

Sample itinerary

Day 1

Immerse yourself in the fantasy world of Disney at one of the four memory-making theme parks, including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. A range of tickets can provide daily access to the parks. Alternatively, why not learn how to surf with a Florida Surf Lesson at Cocoa Beach? Another one-of-a-kind experience is the Florida Adventure Tour, where you get to swim and snorkel with the glorious manatees on the Crystal River with certified dive masters. Also included is an airboat ride on the Homosassa River and a visit to Homosassa State Wildlife Park, a haven and rehabilitation center for injured animals.

Day 2:

Visit the Kennedy Space Center for a truly an out-of-this world experience. Some of the highlights include getting a close-up view of the space shuttle launch pads from an observation gantry, walking beneath a Saturn V rocket and the Astronaut Hall of Fame. For high-speed thrills, visiting the home of the world-famous Daytona 500 is a must. The tour includes a whirl around the circuit pit road and victory lane and a visit to the usually restricted VIP suites. Those wanting a more hands on experience can participate in a race against others in Acceleration Alley.
