The South Beach Area is a particularly exciting and lively area, occupying the city's southernmost 3 miles and filled with art galleries, stylish restaurants, glorious beaches and nightspots. The Art Deco District is at the very centre of city's clever reinvention, with more than 800 Art Deco buildings, including some excellent hotels close to the beach. Countless other tourist attractions are situated nearby, such as the Miami Everglades National Park and Biscayne Bay.

Sample itinerary

Day 1:

Enjoy a walking tour of the Art Deco District to discover the architectural crown jewels of this one-square-mile of Traditional Deco, Streamline Moderne and Spanish Mediterranean Revival styles before having lunch at one of the trendy eateries. The Holocaust Museum, a tribute to the victims of Nazi terrorism, is an inspiring memorial dominated by a giant bronze arm reaching skyward. Head to the Lincoln Road Shopping District to experience the essence of revitalised South Beach, home to myriad performing arts organisations, art galleries, one-of- a-kind boutiques and restaurants. In the evening, treat yourself to dinner on Lincoln Road where delectable dishes from the world's cuisines are served in a lively atmosphere, before experiencing the frenetic nightlife at South Beach.


Day 2:

Drive out to the Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park, two of the largest National Parks in the U.S. Visit more than a million acres of rare and beautiful ecosystems. Enjoy a hiking or bike trail, rent a canoe or kayak, try fishing or relax aboard a backcountry or bay cruise. No trip would be complete without a visit to the Miccosukee Indian Village and an Airboat Ride. Witness craft making and alligator wrestling, learn about Native American folk traditions and take a fantastic journey on an airboat. In the afternoon, head to Monkey Jungle and watch from special observation "cages" as nearly 500 primates of 50 species roam free in their tropical habitat. Alternatively, spoil yourself with some of Miami's famous shopping. Explore Bal Harbour Shops, an internationally renowned collection of specialty boutiques, restaurants and cafes in a tropical-garden setting. Here you will find big names such as Bulgari, Chanel, Gucci, Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Hermes. Or go to the Aventura Mall which features more than 280 shops and restaurants. In the evening, board a dinner Cruise for a fun-filled journey along Biscayne bay with spectacular views of the magnificent skyline.
