DAYS 4-6 Oaxaca
Fly for one hour to Oaxaca, a Unesco Cultural Heritage Site & Mixtec & Zapotec Indian city. Surrounded by the Sierra Madre, the cobblestone streets are home to ornate buildings, churches & elegant plazas while nearby pre-Colombian ruins are not to be missed. Spend three nights at the Hotel Camino Real.
DAYS 7-9 Merida
Fly via Mexico City to Merida the capital of the Yucatan. Built over 450 years ago on the site of an ancient Mayan city, the 'white city' of Merida is a colonial gem set in the midst of low-lying tropical rainforest.The nearby haciendas are set on former 18th Century henequen plantations & act as the perfect base for optional expeditions to the local Mayan sites of Uxmal, Labná & others. DAYS 10-14 Riviera Maya
