Malaysia

In the wealthy capital, Kuala Lumpur, huge skyscrapers sit next to remnants of traditional Malay villages. In Malaysia’s smaller towns such as Terengganu, you’ll find a more typical mix of colonial architecture, amazing temples and mosques and sunny beaches, all packaged up with an intrinsically Chinese, Indian and Malay flavour. In contrast, the Cameron Highlands, in the centre of Peninsular, a series of hill stations at high altitudes and the centre of Malaysia's tea industry, couldn’t be more rural and is a great escape from the heat of the city or the superb beaches.
