The raison d’être of any visit to Madagascar is to see its unique, endemic wildlife. Many reserves are within easy reach of our selected lodges. Andasibe Reserve is home to the largest of all lemur, the Indri, with its haunting call that carries through the rainforest canopy. Nearby Mantadia National Park is rewarding for beautiful walks in primary rainforest of ferns, mosses and streams. In the north there are a host of diverse reserves from the montane rainforest of Montagne d’Ambre to the dry deciduous forest of Ankarana, with its baobab trees and tsingy formations. Isalo National Park in the southwest is one of the most beautiful; with deep, incised, sandstone canyons making it a spectacular place to observe lemur and birds.
