Kerala is India's most idyllic state. The coast is fringed on one side by amazing coastline with secluded beaches and on the other by a vast network of lagoons, lakes, rivers and canals, leading up to the hills which are home to tea and spice plantations. Fort Cochin's attractive colonial houses and fishermen with huge Chinese nets, Ayurvedic massages and Kethakali, a traditional art of storytelling acted out in costume -all these and more add to the charm of the south west coast.
