Delhi and Uttar Pradesh

As the Indian capital and India's third largest city, Delhi has much to offer. Both the Old and New Delhi are fascinating - the city's Mughal past evident in the streets of Old Delhi contrasting starkly withNew Delhi, with its ordered governmental buildings and leafy avenues. The ancient capital of India, Agra in Uttar Pradesh, is known for the Taj Mahal. Uttar Pradesh is also home to the holy cities - Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura and Allahabad, based by the sacred rivers, the Ganga and the Yamuna. The state hosts a Kumbha Mela every 12 years, where over ten million Hindus congregate - the largest gathering of human beings in the world.
