Many would argue that no journey to Ecuador can be complete without a visit to the remarkable Galapagos Islands, the giant natural laboratory and animal kingdom located at zero degrees latitude 1,000 kilometres out in the Pacific Ocean. Aborigine people never existed here, only pirates, whalers and adventurers, so a unique tame and magical wildlife has evolved to include amphibious marine iguana, giant tortoise, playful sea lion, the world’s northern-most penguin and wonderful birds such as the surreal dancing blue and red-footed boobies. To explore here is to share a unique view on the creation of life.
