Australia The Top End

The hot, enigmatic wilderness of Australia’s Top End varies from tawny outback plains dotted with vast cattle stations to tropical rainforests, tumbling waterfalls and crocodile infested rivers further north. Kakadu, Australia’s largest National Park with its pristine wetlands, is home to an astonishing array of flora and fauna, as well as intriguing Aboriginal rock art dating back millennia. Abutting the park, Arnhem Land is a huge Aboriginal reserve, a forbidden land full of mystique to which only chosen guides have access. Like Kakadu and the remote Cobourg Peninsula, it features thousands of rock art sites, sacred burial grounds and an incredible diversity of wild and birdlife.
