Australia Kangaroo Island

Although only 13 kilometres offshore, Kangaroo Island’s isolation has kept it free from non-indigenous predators. As a result, it is one of Australia’s foremost locations to observe both native wildlife and species now threatened on the mainland. The country’s third largest island, its perimeter of cliffs and white beaches surrounds an interior of rolling fields, boutique vineyards, untouched bush and attractive glades of gum trees. The entire western end of the island is given over to the vast Flinders Chase National Park, where koala, platypus, kangaroo and wallabies roam freely, while along the coast, unforgettable sights include the aptly named Remarkable Rocks, colonies of Fur Seal at Admiral’s Arch and sea lion at Seal Bay.
