Luxury Vietnam holidays show a country that has absorbed and united many of the influences of its past and present; Confucian morals, colonial French-inspired architecture, Far Eastern temples, hill tribes in traditional dress and city dwellers in jeans. The food is also eclectic, with French-style pâté and baguettes sitting alongside delicious noodle and rice dishes.
Its rich scenery has the Red River delta in the north and the Mekong delta in the south. Coastal rice paddies juxtapose sublime beaches; it also hosts spectacular forests, rock formations, sea cliffs and the grottos of Halong Bay.
There is the World Heritage town of Hoi An, and the colonial elegance of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. There are the deserted beaches like Mui Ne or the livelier, but no less beautiful, resorts further north in Nha Trang, as well as the spectacular Con Dao archipelago of islands located to the southeast of Vietnam. All the areas vie for the travellers’ attention and would benefit from a tailor-made holiday.
Vietnam is rapidly opening up to the outside world and the demand for luxury hotels and holidays, but it will always retain its traditional charm and rare beauty.
