The combination of lush green hills and vegetation, endless white beaches, blue skies, beautiful sunsets and pure tranquillity offered by a holiday in British Virgin Islands make them the sort of place that one would actually welcome being marooned on. The cuisine ranges from local West Indian cooking to fine Continental French and Florentine feasts, which can be sampled formally or in gourmet picnics on the beach.
The Virgin Islands are also the number one place to indulge in favourite water sports or learn new ones. It is not only home to the largest fleet of charter yachts in the Caribbean but also offers great facilities for snorkelling, scuba-diving, deep-sea and salt flat fishing, windsurfing and traditional surfing, kayaking and waterskiing. Crewed yachts are available at several of the British Virgin island hotels.
If land sports are to one’s liking the resorts in the British Virgin Islands also offer impressive tennis facilities. Spa facilities are also offered at several of the resorts, plus children are well catered for while on holiday.
It is not essential to have the deluxe holiday of a lifetime in the British Virgin Islands but it is a distinct possibility.
