Old Mondoro provides guests with an authentic, intimate safari that focuses on the wildlife and the bush experience. The camp has an informal and uncomplicated atmosphere, with accommodation for only eight guests in four comfortable opensided tents. Each tent has en suite facilities with running hot and cold water, as well as an outdoor bath and shower; the romantic paraffin lamps enhance the feeling of being really close to nature. The emphasis here is on walking safaris, but the full range of activities such as day and night game drives, game viewing by boat, catch and release fishing and canoeing are also available. The differing habitats of towering acacia studded woodland, rich lagoons and floodplains are home to a vast array of game, while the joys of the river and its wildlife come within reach in canoes that slip silently through the water. For a classic and traditional safari experience, Old Mondoro is about as good as it gets.
