Old Mondoro has an intimate and uncomplicated atmosphere with accommodation for only eight guests in four comfortable open-sided tents. Each tent has ensuite facilities, running cold water and hot bucket showers; romantic paraffin lamps enhance the feeling of being really close to nature.
The emphasis here is on walking safaris, many of which start in camp whilst others begin a short drive away. The differing habitats of towering acacia studded woodland, rich lagoons and floodplains are home to a vast array of game whilst the joys of the river and its wildlife come within reach on canoes that slip silently through the water. For a classic and traditional safari experience, Old Mondoro is about as good as it gets.
