Perched on the side of a mountain on the northern edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, this luxury tented camp provides an ideal base for superb gorilla trekking, primate excursions and birdwatching. The accommodation blends seamlessly with the surrounding forest, valleys and mountains. There are eight double, en suite tents raised on wooden platforms, each with a semi-outdoor bathtub and a spacious veranda where guests can relax, enjoy a private meal and view the rainforest. The main lodge also overlooks the forest and at night, a flickering campfire provides a perfectly traditional safari atmosphere for conviviality and conversation. The gorilla and incredible wildlife are the real draw here and three gorilla groups have been slowly and delicately habituated to human presence, enabling the lucky few to spend up to an hour a day watching these gentle giants in their natural environment. At Gorilla Forest Camp guests stand another chance to view these gentle giants as the camp has at least three to four gorilla visits a month.
