To the west of the Serengeti National Park the 400,000 acre private Grumeti Reserves house three beautiful lodges that between them sleep up to 56 guests, Sasakwa Hill Lodge, Sabora Plains Tented Camp and the Faru Faru River Lodge. Based on the grassy plains bordering the Serengeti to which more one and a half million wildebeest and thousands of zebra and antelope complete an annual three hundred mile journey in search of life sustaining grasses, this is wildlife heaven. To complete the experience of a lifetime there is a private helipad and 16 polo and thoroughbred horses for riding and horse safari enthusiasts, not to mention many more amazing sporting and leisure facilities in each of the individual lodges. Comprising six lavish, air-conditioned tents decorated in grand 1920s style Sabora Plains Tented Camp offers the ultimate in luxury. Tents, which have bedroom, lounge, library and en-suite bathroom areas are lined with raw silk and carpeted with Persian rugs. Finishing touches such as wind-up gramophones, silver hand mirrors and fresh rose petal baths make the whole experience very special. There is also a viewing deck with your own Swarovski spotting scope. In addition, the camp has a dining room, lounge, wide viewing deck, heated plunge pool, Jacuzzi and tennis court.
