Montpelier Plantation & Beach is a romantic hideaway located 750 feet above the Caribbean Sea on the island of Nevis. This small luxury hotel has just 19 air-conditioned rooms that offer views of either the sea or lush, tropical gardens. Decorated with rich fabrics the rooms are an elegant mix of traditional and tropical style and each one boasts a private veranda.

During the 18th century Montpelier was a working sugar plantation, today the 30 acre estate is a secluded retreat and most of the sugar fields have given way to tropical vegetation, though a small portion of land is still farmed for sugar which is used in Montpelier's kitchens.
A massage or the hotel's private beach offer guests complete relaxation while tennis or golf on the Four Seasons course offer an alternative for the more energetic. Alternatively island ecologists are on hand to guide you on hikes through tropical rain forest, deserted sugar plantations and the ruins of the old plantation homes and sugar works.
Dining is exceptional, under the guidance of Montpelier's Executive Chef, the AAA, Four Diamond, Relais & Chateaux restaurant specializes in using locally grown produce and spices. Enjoy pre dinner drinks and canapés in The Great Room followed by fine dining and outstanding views at The Terrace Restaurant. No trip to Montpelier is complete without experiencing candlelit, intimate dining in the 18th century sugar mill. Alternatively set your taste buds alive with the new tapas menu at Indigo by the pool bar using local ingredients with a good choice of different wines by the glass.
