An idyllic hideaway set in 30 acres of landscaped grounds and framed by the Tramuntana Mountains, the award-winning La Residencia feels more like a friendly private home than a five star hotel.
The heart of the hotel, filled with antiques, original art and dark wooden furniture, consists of two beautifully restored 16th and 17th Century manor houses. Shuttered windows yield views of formal gardens with bougainvillea, citrus and olive groves, as well as the picturesque village of Deiá. Many of the 54 rooms and suites have four poster beds and several suites have outdoor pools. All have bathrooms equipped with Molton Brown products. The Tower Suite, comprising a bedroom, cosy sitting room and a glorious rooftop terrace, has already been voted one of the world's best tower rooms by The Independent.
Take drinks in the newly renovated bar before dinner in El Olivo, famed for its romantic setting and gastronomic excellence. More informal dining can be found in Son Fony's courtyard setting or at the poolside restaurant.
Relax in one of six treatment rooms or beside the indoor pool at the refurbished spa which features in the 2008 Condé Nast readers awards for best hotel spa. Alternatively enjoy floodlit tennis, cycling, golf and the in-house gym. There are also regular art exhibitions and classical concerts involving the hotel's 1887 Steinway.
