La Gazelle D'Or is just minutes from the ancient walled city of Taroudant in southern Morocco, this five star hotel, set in 250 acres of attractive gardens and orange groves, offers complete seclusion.
Used as a hunting lodge until the 1960s, the hotel's accommodation is based in 30 pretty stone cottages each with terraces screened by plumbago and bougainvillaea. The cottages are individually furnished with unusual antiques, mosaics and hand-made rugs, cleverly blending contemporary European and traditional Moroccan style.
Breakfast is served as late as you like, wherever you like. Lunchtime buffets made from produce from the hotel's own farm take place by the hotel's pool whilst dinner is an epicurean affair of five courses or more served in a tented Berber dining room.
