Le Touessrok

The award-winning Le Touessrok, set on the east coast of Mauritius, is a trendy yet relaxed Mediterranean village-style collection of white washed buildings and sparkling swimming pools through which stone paths meander down to flawless beaches.

Rooms and suites are uncluttered, soothing spaces, some with plasma screen TVs and all the techno gadgetry one could possibly imagine. Funky, egg-shaped baths, which seem synonymous with Le Touessrok, can be found in junior suites on Frangipani Island and of course the extremely spacious ocean suites. However, the piece de resistance are the three exceptional three bedroom private villas that are perfect for those seeking the ultimate indulgence when travelling with family or friends. Each comes equipped with an attentive butler, landscaped private gardens and an infinity swimming pool.
The restaurants are as dramatic as one would expect with a spectacular array of places to eat and drink. The inspired main restaurant, Three-Nine-Eight, is set on three levels, serving cuisine from nine countries and is presented by eight show kitchens, engaging guests in an incredible visual theatre. If this is not enough choice, pay a visit to Safran, an Indian-inspired thatched temple of gastronomy. Another unforgettable dining experience can be found a short boat ride away at Le Touessrok's private island of Îlot Mangénie, where characters such as Man Friday welcome guests ashore to their island-style life before helping them make the difficult choice between sunbathing and tucking into grilled lobster or a tropical rum cocktail.

In addition to a unique offshore 18-hole championship golf course designed by Bernhard Langer, Îles aux Cerfs is also home to the boathouse offering complimentary water sports and a PADI dive centre. Back on the mainland, guests will find the unbelievably sybaritic Givenchy Spa, a well-equipped gym, horse riding on the beach, beach volleyball and a Peter Burwash International Tennis Academy. Families are well catered for with a Robin Hood themed LeT Club for under 12s. Le Touessrok is conspicuous, excessive and out of this world. From a resort of this calibre, the best is all one can expect.
