Kanuhura

Kanuhura is a welcoming island retreat, a unique all villa resort where service is understood and luxury is understated. There is nothing more magical than being whisked, by private seaplane, to the serene shores of an island paradise wrapped in bright hues of turquoise ocean and endless sky.

Following an extensive refurbishment Kanuhura is now better than ever. Ninety-five enchanting villas fall into five categories; some are on the beach while others are over water but regardless of location they all have luxuries such as personal hosts and sensuous bathrooms as well as satellite TV and DVD player, broadband internet access, king size beds with Egyptian cotton linen, a pillow menu and private verandas.

Families will be in heaven in one of five duplexes which comprise two adjoining beach villas that enjoy ensuite bathrooms and decked verandas. Beach villas are nestled along the shore while a long wooden bridge leads to the water villas. Captivating and romantic, they feature a deck for sunbathing and alfresco dining, stone bath and outdoor shower. Best of all though, are the spectacular, sun-drenched grand water villas which are set on stilts over the lagoon.

For those in search of more than a paradise island and intense peace and quiet, the resort offers extensive activities. Close to some of the world's finest dive sites, scuba enthusiasts can explore shipwrecks and reefs. Watersports, squash, tennis, the Lava Lounge which doubles as a private cinema, romantic escapes to Jehunuhura Island, where one can spend the night under the stars, and a fitness centre as well as action packed days at the kids club for children are just some of the wonderful ways to spend the long sunny days. After all the activity unwind in the award winning spa which is renowned for its South East Asian inspired treatments.

Fish and seafood come directly from the clear waters of Lhaviyani Atoll although other fine ingredients are imported from across the world. There are several dining options, from the vibrant Thin Rah to the intimate à la carte Olive Tree restaurant or candle lit Veli Café. For those looking for something a little more unusual, spend the morning fishing and enjoy your own catch, be it tuna, sailfish or marlin. Alternatively enjoy lunch at Cove's, the alfresco restaurant on Jehunuhura Island or private dining in one of many secluded spots.
