A brand new look from Constance Hotels, operators of some of the finest hotels in Mauritius and Seychelles, Constance Halaveli Resort, which opened in June 2009, is their first offering in the Maldives. More contemporary than its sister properties Constance Le Prince Maurice and Lémuria, yet it has an arguably more island-style chilled atmosphere. Perhaps the most visually striking aspect of Constance Halaveli Resort is the overwater jetty, one of the longest in the Maldives jutting out into the blue of the North Ari Atoll, and the spacious villa accommodation takes full advantage of this and the colourful reefs surrounding Halaveli Island.

Overwater, the jetty cleverly follows the contours of the coral reef it astrides giving guests easy access to fantastic snorkelling and swimming in the turquoise lagoon. Halfway along the jetty is the overwater Le Spa de Constance offering a range of treatments in its 11 rooms, using British organic ila products. The spa also offers a salon, hot pool, chill pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and yoga. Across from the spa on stilts is the speciality Jing Restaurant and Bar offering healthy Asian fusion cuisine with a European touch. Stretching from the spa and restaurant to both ends of the jetty are 57 water villas each with steps down into the surrounding lagoon. On land twenty beach villas, eight double story beach villas and one vast three-bedroomed presidential beach villa complete the resort. All villas feature private marble plunge pools, and have the latest Apple Mac Mini entertainment systems and LCD TVs, and bathrooms with either indoor or outdoor showers. An established feel is given to this new resort thanks to the island's lush, tropical vegetation and great ambience created by beautiful lighting and the sand underfoot in the public areas of the island. The Jahaz Restaurant & Bar, serves international cuisine and the Meeru beach restaurant offers fresh grilled seafood. Also on the island is a main swimming pool, floodlit tennis court, boat house with PADI dive centre, Kuda Club for children aged 4 to 11 years who are well looked after and entertained by qualified staff from 9am to 10pm.
