This utterly charming property is located in the far north of Madagascar near the village of Joffreville, on the lower slopes of the Montagne d’Ambre National Park. The montane rainforest of the park is on the doorstep, while Ankarana Special Reserve, the Red Tsingy, Montagne des Français and the Three Bays are all just a day trip from this idyllic base. Each of the 12 chalets is reminiscent of an African tented safari lodge, substituting canvas walls with local wood. There is a thatched roof, en suite shower room and a small deck, which has views stretching towards Diego Suarez Bay. The restaurant has some of the best home-made foods in Madagascar and breakfasts to die for with fresh, tasty local fruit marmalades. Choose to dine inside or out on the terrace overlooking beautifully maintained gardens, plus a cosy bar area completes a truly welcoming experience.
