Perched high on the Laikipia Plateau, overlooking the Ewaso Ng’iro River valley in Kenya's wild and beautiful North Eastern Province, Ol Malo has one of the great views of an untouched African wilderness. The vista stretches to the misty outline of Mount Kenya in the distance, over miles of bush with a much frequented waterhole in the foreground. It is a family-owned working ranch and game sanctuary set in 2,025 hectares of spectacular wild bush country with two separate homes ensuring a personal and private experience. Ol Malo is the original family home, built, owned and managed by Colin and Rocky Francombe with the help of the Samburu people. It is a striking building in an outstanding location; each of the four fabulous cottage suites has a separate living and dining area and a private veranda, perfect for unwinding and watching the wildlife in the valley below. Large picture windows frame a wild, constantly changing landscape and the cliff edge infinity pool adds to the beauty. The newly built Ol Malo House, is run by the next generation of Francombe’s, Andrew and Chyulu and the six spacious rooms, large communal areas and horizon pool, fringed by Drasina palms, are perfect for large groups or families. From both houses a choice of early morning guided walks with a hot bush breakfast, vehicle, horse and camel expeditions, camping or visits to the Samburu tribe ensure that there is as much or as little to do as one could possibly want.
